Each year we are honored to create a video for Shodair Children's Hospital in Helena. This year we made one for the psychiatric wing of the hospital, a story about this courageous young woman who is overcoming mental health challenges.
True love and friendship could be felt at the sweet wedding of Matthew and Emma! Due to forest fires, the Oostdyk family had been evacuated days before the wedding, but you never would have known. In fact, it seemed to bring everyone even closer together. Many friends and family had a hand in this special day, including growing the flowers and decorating the ceremony and reception sites.
The wind blew the smoke out of the valley, we had blue skies and everyone was excited for this loving couple to unite the Oostdyk and Price families! Also, fun fact, this amazing bride not only did her own hair, she even styled her entire wedding party's hair!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Price! It was an honor to capture your day, thanks for having us along!
Calling all elopers! We want more of THIS! We want to know what brought you together and what you are passionate about. We want to climb mountains with you, have some beers and talk about life with you, carry your dress shoes while you hike to your ceremony spot, and craft a beautiful film that makes you laugh and cry. We want to walk away from this experience thinking, wow, that was a lot of fun, and now we have some new friends!
How lucky we are to say all of these amazing things happened with two really cool people, Dustin and Erika. They wanted a stress-free wedding in a beautiful location, and well, I think they succeeded!
Thanks so much, Erika and Dustin, for having us along, trusting in us, and befriending us! We are so happy to have met you!
Beth and Casey's wedding at The Venue at Montana 45 was picture perfect! The horses on the property even stopped by to listen to their heart-felt vows! We could not have asked for a more perfect setting, or a more laid back, fun-loving couple to work with! We had so much fun with you guys, thanks for having us along!
You might recognize Kate, from our Merry Pawpins commercial, or Danny's poetic rhymes from his published writing -- but, one thing is for sure, these two are a power-couple match-made in Missoula!
We were so honored to be the ones to document their big day! This time, we not only made a film, but photographed as well. It was so much fun working as a team in a different way, this wedding made us decide to start offering photography along with our film packages (woohoo!)
The ceremony took place on the Gudlach's beautiful property in Hamilton, Montana, followed by a rip roaring reception full of hula hooping and dancing at the town hall. We are so happy to have these guys as friends and we had an absolute blast creating keepsakes to last a lifetime!
Mountain views, a beautiful lake, amazing flowers, warm-hearted people and so much love. That's Sawyer and Carl's big day in a nutshell, and it has left us speechless.
We really enjoyed getting to know their families throughout the day, not to mention, we love a group with a good sense of humor! Goldfinch Events + Design coordinated this wedding without a hitch! And look at that Chuppah...I mean come on! This family knows what's up when it comes to good food (Bravo Catering=incredibly delicious!) and live music (Mike Murray- so good, check him out!). We were able to use a live recording from their wedding day for the highlight film...how cool is that? We think it's the perfect personal touch!
Thanks to the Evans + Kuschke families for inviting us along! We wish you a lifetime of happiness! Cheers!
Lots of love at the Ranch Club in Missoula
This was our first wedding videography shoot at the Ranch Club in Missoula, Montana - what a gorgeous day!! It was a beautiful location for a wedding - great venue, great food, great people! We got there early and I flew my drone around the property to get some aerial footage options, and gathered B-roll before the heat of the day set in. The ceremony was simple and both the reception area and the ceremony trellis were adorned with floral arrangements by Whimsy Design - who were delightful to work with, also!
Dan and Erin's wedding was simple, elegant and exuding so much love! We had to wipe away tears during the ceremony! It was pretty warm out for everyone during the ceremony, but they kept it pretty short, and sweet. Erin wore a wedding dress that both her mother AND grandmother wore - so there was a lot of history there. The dance party was fun - Jeff was grabbing some unique angles with his Glidecam.
A gorgeous couple on a gorgeous day for wedding video in Montana!
Promotional video for Merry Pawpins
When we aren't doing wedding videography, we are busy shooting commercials for area businesses. Merry Pawpins, LLC came to us with the idea to make a short promotional video to promote her pet-sitting business, but was not sure exactly what to do. Immediately, Jeff storyboarded out an idea and within a couple days we had shot all the scenes and had a rough edit together.
Commercial video projects usually employ a different set of equipment, pre-planning, and execution than wedding videography. Our primary light for a lot of indoor scenes is a Cool Light LED-1200 made by Cool Lights. We also employ a bevy of Canon lenses and GoPro cameras. Here are a few snapshots from behind the scenes those days. At one point, our cameraman Jeff McLain had to don a dry suit because the Clark Fork River was too chilly.
We were really excited to do the videography for Miranda and Henry along Flathead Lake in Polson, Montana. The private ceremony site was unreal! The details, carefully coordinated by Habitat Events, were incredible, and the day was perfect for the couple.
This was a loving crew of skiing-aficionados and lake-lovers.
A Missoula Wedding
We were really excited to shoot video for Rachael and Jason's wedding because we had also had the opportunity to shoot her older sister's wedding a few years prior. This family knows how to throw a party! It was a hot day for wedding videography in Montana and there was some looming storm activity that threatened the festivities, but besides some wind, it didn't have any negative effect on the celebration.
After the ceremony at St. Francis Xavier Church, the party started at Canyon River and didn't end til the wee hours. Rachael and Jason were overflowing with love, which was really sweet to see. This is a large family, and an extended family of friends who made this particular wedding truly epic. Their DJ kept the music pumping! And between the music, the light show, and the photo booth, the guests were well entertained.
Montana weddings can be a challenge in the heat, but we drink tons of water throughout the day. Part of being a videographer is to be well-prepared for anything, which is why we have a lot of backup equipment.
It was a wild reception to the reverent ceremony and it was nice that the bride and groom asked us to have a drink at the end of the night. The sunset over Missoula that night was spectacular and lent itself nicely to a little time-lapse, as well. Total bonus!
As Western Montana wedding videographers, we often find ourselves wrapped up in the emotions of the day. Mary and Zeke's Whitefish wedding at Grouse Mountain Lodge was no exception. Between tears and laughs, these two lovebirds celebrated their nuptials between bursts of sun, wind, and rain throughout the day. We loved working with them to capture sweet memories.
There were special considerations on this particular wedding, since it was raining off-and-on throughout the day. We utilize special clamps with added reticulating arms to hold small umbrellas over our cameras!
We also had some fun working along side one of our favorite area photographers, Lindsey Jane. Wedding videography can be tricky business with multiple camera set-ups, so we love it when we jibe well with the photographer, trading shots and ideas, ebbing and flowing with each other throughout the day. Working around the movements of the photography team is an art unto itself!
